Session 1 | Session 2 | Session 3 | Session 4 | Session 5 | Session 6

Mathematically unhealthy? Graphically challenged? Uncoordinated? Lost the plot? Want to get fit and learn some maths too? Step this way for Aerobi-graphs. Each session links a physical activity with an aspect of graphs and their transformations. For example, what would you do to illustrate the line y=mx+c for different values of m? How could you show what happens when the constant b is increased in the equation y=ax²+b? And could you do it to music?

The photo sessions were set up and directed by MathsNet at The Hewett School, Norwich during Summer 1997, and the pictures were taken and processed into animated GIFs by Anglia Multimedia. The animations may be accompanied by music - courtesy of ninja tune - but be prepared for hang-ups. Internet Explorer and Netscape only just cope with the combination of sound and animation. Try both... Better still, try Firefox.
