Velocity-time graphs 2 backmore
The graph below shows velocity plotted against time. The motion has three stages.
Stage 1. The particle travels from rest with accleration a ms-1 for a period of b seconds.
Stage 2. The particle travels at constant velocity from t = b to t=c seconds.
Stage 3. The particle travels with constant deceleration d ms-1 until it stops.
The area under the graph represents the total distance travelled.

Find the total time taken and distance travelled in these cases:
When a = 3 ms-2, b=3 seconds, c = 6 seconds, d = -2 ms-1
When a = 3 ms-2, b=4 seconds, c = 8 seconds, d = -3 ms-1
