Assessment
The Mathematics Project does not have to be on Module S3. It is only included here for compatability with EdExcel's specification. The teacher awards a mark, out of 60 unit. The maximum marks available for each of the six Assessment Criteria are shown below.   Maximum mark 1 Planning and design of project; outline of background or aims (as appropriate) 8 2 Standard of the Mathematics involved in the project; overall extent of the work 12 3 Accuracy and relevance of the mathematical processes used 12* 4 Clarity of expression and communication skills 10 5 Statement of conclusions or brief synopsis of the work (as appropriate) 8 6 Oral assessment 10 * (but the maximum mark here shall be the mark awarded in category 2)
