3.1
Generating the Ö5 rectangle from the 1:2
rectangle. Starting with a double square ABCD bisected at EF: with centre G and
radius GA, swing a circle intersecting the extended dividing line EF at H and
K. HK=Ö5. MLKH is a Ö5 rectangle. |

3.2
The Ö5 and the pentagon. Draw a circle
with its semicircle inscribed in a double square rectangle. Extend the dividing
line of the double square to complete the two cardinal axes, XX' and YY' of the
circle. With centre A and radius AY swing an arc to B. With centre Y and radius
YB swing an arc to cut the circle at C and D. With centres C and D swing more
arcs cutting the circle at E and F. Draw pentagon YDFEC.

Extra Here is another way of constructing a pentagon - not
mentioned in sacred geometry. |
