An update on resource development at www.mathsnet.net. Thank you for subscribing. MathsNet is a free and independent educational website, produced in its entirety by me.

MAIN RESOURCE SUMMARY
The main curriculum resources on MathsNet are:

ASA2 Mathematics: www.mathsnet.net/asa2/modules/
Geometry: www.mathsnet.net/geometry/
Graphs: www.mathsnet.net/graphs/
Algebra: www.mathsnet.net/algebra/
Fractions: www.mathsnet.net/fractions/
Discussion forums: www.mathsnet.net/forums/

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
A major development for the site and for me is the launch of the Interactive GCSE course as a subscription service. For those of you, students or teachers, who have been using this MathsNet resource for this summer's exams, and particularly those who have sent in feedback and helpful suggestions, I hope you will not be too disappointed to find this out. The pages at www.mathsnet.net/gcse/ consist now of a brief sample of questions on Number, Algebra, Shape & space and Data handling at Intermediate GCSE level. The new service will be formally launched in September this year, but you can pre-subscribe and save some money (or e-learning credits) by going to www.mathsnet.com/subs/. Also at that address is an online demo in Flash 5 of the materials.
This is the first step forward in trying to make the website generate some income. I hope current users can convince their schools and colleges to part with the cash! What do you think?

The ASA2 resource at www.mathsnet.net/asa2/modules/ includes more questions from this summer's module exams. You can read many candidate's comments on the modules at www.mathsnet.net/forums/. The Edexcel P3 module in particular appears to have caused some concern. I felt it was unfairly difficult and sent comments to the exam board.

Now that www.mathsnet.com is also live, I hope to develop more mathematical links between schools, students, teachers and the best in ICT-based resources.

RECENT DEVELOPMENTS
The Interactive GCSE course at www.mathsnet.net/gcse/ includes questions from Intermediate Paper 1 sat in the current exam session. The ASA2 resource at www.mathsnet.net/asa2/modules/ includes questions from this June's P1, P3 and M1. Other papers will be added soon. Current opinion seems to be that the P3 was too difficult. You can read some candidate's comments at www.mathsnet.net/forums/. The "Geometry in 3 dimensions" material at www.mathsnet.net/geometry/solid/ has more applets on manipulating solid shapes loaned from the WisWeb site at http://www.wisweb.nl/ in the Netherlands

The discussion forum at www.mathsnet.net/forums/ now has over 80 registered members. A new discussion forum "Authoring mathematical webpages" has just been started by the people who produce MathType and WebEQ.

The biggest development however is that www.mathsnet.com is now live. It is not going to be "officially" launched until September 2003 but you can see what's coming. A new subscription service for GCSE will be launched then also.
